Add Years To Your Life By Walking Daily

Exercise has long been recommended to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and improve your overall health.  A recent study found that 25 minutes of brisk walking a day has the potential of adding seven years to your life.  The study presented at the European Society of Cardiology Congress followed a group of 69 healthy nonsmokers aged between 30 and 60.  Blood tests were reviewed and demonstrated that when people exercise regularly they may be able to slow the process of aging.  Exercise is an antidepressant that helps relieve stress and decrease anxiety along with controlling blood sugars and promoting weight loss.

In a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine, pooled data of over 660,000 men and women who were reviewed over a median follow-up time of 14.2 years.  The study found that exercising moderately for 150 minutes per week reduced the risk of death by 31% and up to 39% with 450 minutes per week.

These studies provide additional evidence of the many benefits of regular exercise.  You will feel better, look better, and although there is no guarantee, even the possibility of extending your life should motivate all of us to exercise daily.
